So is "the Donald" planning to buy Charlotte, it's the top of the news today, or so says the Charlotte Observer!   Maybe just a few blocks of downtown for an office tower, luxury condo's and more and more. (Only 26 new condo towers being build in the downtown loop) It's just proof that Charlotte has hit the radar everywhere, not just the regular folks like you and me, but the big money wants in on our great city also.  I've only lived here most of my life, except for the couple years in Raleigh at NCSU, so things today have a different feel then that first trip downtown in 1968.  I only wish I had some pictures to show you  how things have changed, boy you can't believe the differences since then.  I worked downtown at Lapointe Chevy-Honda in the late 70's.  It was at the corner of Trade and Davidson, we parked our new cars where the Federal Reserve is today, what a change.  Our overflow lot is now part of the Bobcats arena.  It just amazes me!  You will love downtown, looks a lot like some parts of Manhattan, just a few blocks up and down Tryon are very classy just like in the movies.  Quite a change for this country boy from 45 miles up the road in Alexander County (Stony Point).
